Summary (from AFI): Nightclub singer Alice Carroll is discovered in the office of Al Barrow, club proprietor, who lies dead on the floor. Circumstances point to her guilt: a chorine has overheard Alice threaten to kill Barrow rather than to submit to his advances. Young District Attorney Dick Starr considers this evidence sufficient to convict Alice, and her innocence is not proven until Jimmy helps her to escape from Sing Sing and she rescues Dick from an attack by a gang of crooks.
