“The Blonde Panic”, suggested as a designation for Jean Harlow, platinum blonde star of “Hell’s Angels”, is not to be employed because it was first used on sports pages with reference to Marshall Duffield, University of Southern California quarterback from whom even Notre Dame could not remove it.
So now Howard Hughes’ New York office is hunting for a title–a title with a lilt to it, which will identify Jean Harlow as somebody very special, as picture people are convinced that she is. Money is even to be paid for the best title, so they say.
