Here’s a fashion portrait of Jean (likely by Hurrell, love those) dating around the China Seas era, 1935. Lots of white in this one, down to the outfit. Original news snipe that accompanied the portrait to print describes it:

My favorite part of this is how the background on a news print is solid black, no doubt due to some handy-dandy editing paint to help it print well. Would have looked pretty washed out without it. I think a black background would have been a superior choice for this sitting, but who am I to talk over the photography masters at MGM… oh well…
